Sharon Perez

Sharon moved to Mercer Island in 2011 with her family - husband, Anthony, their two boys who are in 5th grade at West Mercer and 8th grade at IMS and two beloved Havanese, Desi and Tito. Born in Michigan, raised in Oregon and Arizona, Sharon received a BA in History from Oregon State University and an MBA with a focus on Organizational Theory and Marketing from the Willamette University Atkinson Graduate School of Management. She is recognized as an inspirational and dynamic community engagement leader for large complex projects, most recently, spending four years working on the community-led entrepreneurial effort to create a local performing arts center, Mercer Island Center for the Arts. As the principal for Sharon Peres.Strategy.Impact.Influence, she consults as a strategist and revenue generator to create positive social impact by building healthier communities. Sharon has volunteered on Mercer Island in numerous capacities and served on multiple boards, including Mercer Island Food Revolution Chair; MIPA Board and Circus Co-Chair; West Mercer PTA Board, MI Rotary Board and Past President and Board member at Mercerwood Shore Club.  Most recently, Sharon has been serving as a member of the leadership team for the WeLoveMI COVID-19 Relief Campaign, which led to the invitation to serve on the MICF Board.  She is thrilled to have the opportunity to continue community building through the good work of the MI Community Fund.
